PHYSICAL ACTIVITY RESEARCH GROUP

The general goal of this group is an improvement in physical activity level in general population in Iran including school age, adults and older population according to WHO action plan for physical activity.

AIMS & MISSION

Main aim: To ensure that all Iranian people have access to safe and enabling environments and to diverse opportunities to be physically active in their daily lives, as a means of improving individual and community health and contributing to the social, cultural and economic development of Iran.

Other aims : 

a) Seeking the barriers to increase the level of physical activity in the Iranian population

b) Planning to remove and solve the barriers of physical activity in the Iranian population

c) Nationalization of  the universal  programs to promote physical activity level in Iran

d) Developing inter sectional collaborations with other national and international research groups

e) Developing research projects in the aim of promoting physical activity level in the Iranian population

f) Developing new areas of promoting physical activity including media, cyberspace and new technologies

 

Our Target is

A 15% reduction in physical inactivity by 2025, using the prevalence of physical inactivity in adults and in adolescents in 2016 in Iran.
