History

 

The Iranian Center of Neurological Research (ICNR) appointed in 2006 by professor Barimani. J, idea and established by Dr.Majid Ghaffarpour and Dr.Mohammad-Mehdi Sabertehrani in Tehran University of Medical Sciences and obtain Iran Ministry of Health decisive agreement on: 2008.

 

In collaboration with the Neuroscience Institute, the ICNR has an impressive record of rapidly and efficiently organizing, overseeing, coordinating, and conducting small and large multi-center, international clinical trials including randomized, double-blind, double-dummy and open label designs.

Deputy: Mohammad Mahdi SaberTehrani, MD. Neurologist

Research Deputy: Payam Sarraf, MD. Associate Professor of Neurology

 

This center has s appropriate technology in the field of prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases in neurology and strives to improve the health indicators related to these diseases. ICNR established to promote and support research concerning to the causes, treatment, prevention and cure of neurological diseases and focuses on the following seven neurological themes:

 

  • Stroke and other vascular disorders of CNS
  • Multiple Sclerosis and autoimmune encephalopathies
  • Epilepsy
  • Headache
  • Neuro-muscular disorders
  • Movement disorders including Parkinson’s Disease
  • Alzheimer’s Disease and other Dementias
  • Sleep disorders
