Epidemiology Research Group
Epidemiology Research Group is a team of scientists collaborating in the epidemiological investigation of multiple sclerosis (MS) and Neuromyelitis Optica Spectrum Disorder (NMOSD).
We have been actively working in these areas since 2012.
Our main goals are primary research, involving application of epidemiological methods to estimate annual prevalence and Incidence, distribution and determinants of health and disease conditions and identify causal risk factors for MS and NMOSD.
Our focus is on the conduction of large prospective investigations into the effects of environment, mental and physical health, nutrition, infectious agents on disease risk, role of lifestyle in MS and NMOSD and personal, social, economic consequences and burden of diseases.
Our research has now been extended to Implementing MS registry system for improving quality of care and cohorts study for improving quality of life among MS/NMOSD patients. Cooperatively, these studies create a unique resource including researchers that we hope will contribute to finding new approaches for prevention, management and treatment of these neurological diseases.
